Prof. Elizaveta Kon is a globally recognized orthopedic surgeon and Past President of the International Cartilage Regeneration and Joint Preservation Society (ICRS). She is Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Humanitas University and Chief of the Translational Orthopaedics Unit at Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan, where she also directs the Master’s program in Regenerative Medicine in Orthopaedics.

Previously, she was Director of the Nano-Biotechnology Laboratory and orthopedic surgeon at Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, and Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna (2013–2017). She also held a professorship at Sechenov University in Moscow (2018–2022).

Prof. Kon has led numerous European and national research projects and clinical trials in regenerative orthopaedics. She has authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications (H-index 83), 40+ book chapters, and edited 5 orthopedic textbooks. She is a frequent invited speaker at more than 400 international meetings and serves as Associate Editor for International Orthopaedics, Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics, and Joints.

She has held multiple leadership roles in ESSKA and SIAGASCOT, and is a recipient of the ESSKA/AOSSM and ICRS Traveling Fellowships. Her work has earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Biologic Association Research Award and several ICRS Congress distinctions.
